Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Especially if you get a tattoo at Hart & Huntington Las Vegas.
Getting some body art had been on my bucket list for quite some time, but I couldn’t decide what I’d want on me for the rest of my life. Oof, commitment. But much like most things in life, I finally decided to just jump in and not overthink it.
The result? Two fantastic tattoos and one awesome experience.
Here’s what you need to know about Hart & Huntington Las Vegas if you’re considering some ink on your next Vegas vacation:
The Shop
If Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co. sounds familiar to you, that’s because it was featured in A&E’s hit television series Inked. Carey Hart (freestyle motocross revolutionary and husband to singer Pink) opened the Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co. flagship in his hometown of Las Vegas in 2004. Back then it was housed in the Palms, and was the first tattoo shop in any major Vegas casino. It then moved to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in 2009, where it’s currently located.
Need a bite to eat while you’re there? Check out Culinary Dropout! Located just up the hallway from Hart & Huntington, it offers an eclectic menu of savory dishes and thirst-quenching cocktails. With pretzel bites the size of your fist, smoked salmon bruschetta, and festive fruit sangrias, it’s an absolute must!
But I digress.
The Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co. in Las Vegas is clean, professional, and exceptional at what they do. And with several artists specializing in different styles, they’re sure to have what you’re looking for.

My Artist
I was fortunate to have Eric Alvino as my tattoo artist, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Eric started tattooing back in 2000 in his home state of New York, before moving to Las Vegas five years later to learn from some of the best.
Plus, he’s a fellow animal lover and non-meat eater! My kind of people!
His attention to detail and meticulous nature create some of the most stunning tattoos I’ve ever seen.
My sister-in-law was there for her first tattoo as well, and chose a sprig of lavender down her side. After some discussion and research, Eric created a beautiful piece that was even better than she’d imagined! He then methodically applied delicate lines and varying hues to compose a jaw-dropping final design.

My Tattoo
I chose something a little less exciting – a simplistic compass design on one side of my ribs, and my favorite quote, “May you live every day of your life,” on the other. But despite it being far less involved than his normal work, Eric still took the time to make sure both were absolutely perfect.
And the pain?
I had been preparing myself for the worst. In my mind, anything short of throwing up from blinding discomfort would be a win. But I was pleasantly surprised to find it really didn’t hurt much at all!
Fyew!
