Boating on the Savoie across Lake Geneva for an afternoon in Yvoire, France. This jewel of Lake Geneva’s Belle Epoque fleet is a fantastic way to see the many sites around this picturesque area. In addition to offering great food for your journey, the ship itself is fascinting to explore!
The postcard perfect village of Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Alps couldn’t be more gorgeous if it tried. As if the adorable Swiss buildings weren’t enough, it also boasts the 984ft high Staubbach Falls as it’s backdrop. Seems like a Disney movie!
The fairytale facade of the Chillon Castle outside Montreaux is an iconic symbol of Switzerland, and the most visited monument in the country. Probably my favorite castle in the world, it’s simply beautiful!
The north face tip of the Eiger (meaning Ogre). This appropriately named mountain is 13,025ft high and is responsible for multiple climber deaths each year. Maybe I’ll stick with taking the cog railroad to the top…

The ridiculously turquoise waters of Lake Thun. Because of sediment from glacial melt, the water is a remarkable shade of blue. There’s no filter on this photo, it’s really that bright! So amazing, right?!?
The foggy hills above Grindelwald. Looking for a fun afternoon activity? Try riding scooters down the winding, mountain roads. It’s the best! While you zip down the lush hillside you’ll be surrounded by the massive mountains of the Jungfrau region. Julie Andrews would be jealous!
The Jet d’Eau (meaning water jet) is one of the most iconic sites around Geneva. This impressive fountain shoots 132 gallons of water per second to a height of 459ft at a speed of 124 miles per hour. Yowza!

The Oberhofen Castle on Lake Thun dates back to the early 13th century and is a Swiss Heritage Site of national significance (and let’s be honest, looks pretty cool too!)
A lookout point in the Jungfrau Region of the Swiss Alps. Most noteworthy here are the teeny tiny the people are on the ledge to the left. Kinda puts the size of these mountains into perspective, doesn’t it?
A waterfront carnival on the shores of Geneva. Thankfully, funnel cake is universal. Yum!
So. Many. Flowers! Walking along the lake near Montreaux is like walking into a postcard. Seems like everywhere you look there’s another brightly colored bloom.
Another drool worthy sight- sunset over the Jet d’Eau with the many, many swans around Lake Geneva. Another reason this lakefront city is one of the most beatiful in the world.
Because of all these reasons and more, you should add Switzerland to your bucket list. Immediately.
