Ah, Paris. There are a million reasons to fall in love with the city, and the food is certainly one of them. The cuisine is sweet and savory and tantalizes your tastebuds in a way that leaves you dreaming of it long after it’s gone. And while part of Paris’ charm is stopping by a cafe or local market for an impromptu snack, you absolutely shouldn’t miss the opportunity to eat at one of Paris’ many amazing restaurants.

But with seemingly endless options, where do you start? Let me help with what I consider to be some of the best restaurants in Paris for their delicious dishes, exceptional service, and unique atmospheres.

58 TOUR EIFFEL

For a bucket list worthy dining experience, 58 Tour Eiffel is a must! Located on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, the restaurant offers chic lunches and romantic dinners (along with some incredible views of the city!) Your three-course meal will kick off with a starter that sets the tone for the mouthwatering delights to come.

My lunch began with velouté of Puy green lentils, ricotta raviolis with truffle oil, and the most delectable mini croutons on the planet. I’m not kidding when I say I’ve thought of little else since tasting it. How could the rest of the meal possibly compare?!? Well, with smoked haddock and Jerusalem artichokes in large pasta shells and a beurre blanc sauce they managed to outdo themselves. Un-be-lievable!

And whatever you do, don’t forget to save room for dessert! With delicacies like the pistachio crème and the Guanaja chocolate mousse with a praline crisp, you certainly don’t want to miss it!

Because of the iconic location and fantastic food, it comes as no surprise that 58 Tour Eiffel fills up fast. Make sure to reserve your table ahead of time here.

CREPERIE DES ARTS

When you’re in Paris there’s practically a crepe stand on every corner. But don’t be fooled, not all crepes are created equal. The ones you’ll find at Crêperie des Arts are unlike anything you’ve ever had before. Seemingly endless fresh ingredients offer more flavor combinations than you can possibly imagine, each more delightful than the next. Do yourself favor and try more than one (Nutella being an obvious choice for dessert because… it’s Nutella.)

The window outside is a great opportunity to grab a bite on the go, but make sure not to cheat yourself out of sitting down inside for a more relaxed dining experience. Think of it as an excuse to eat there more than once (as if you’ll need any arm twisting.)

COCO DE MER

This Seychelles inspired seafood restaurant in the Latin quarter will make you feel like you’re leisurely enjoying your meal in an island paradise. Literally. The entire floor is covered in soft, white sand and the rest of the interior will make you want to grab your bathing suit and slather on some sunscreen.

But the ambiance isn’t the only reason this restaurant is a must-see when you’re in Paris – the food is to die for! You’ve never tasted curries like this before! There are no words, you simply have to experience it for yourself.

BERTHILLON

Longing to satisfy your sweet tooth? Then head over to Berthillon for the best ice cream on the planet! Is that a pretty bold statement? Yes. Is it accurate? Without a doubt. The menu at Berthillon is vast and includes flavors you only thought possible in your dreams (Fig and pistachio sorbets?!? Yes, please!)

But wait, it gets better! They also have specialty desserts like various sorbets layered amongst macaroons. You read that right – their Ice Success dessert has sorbets interspersed with heavenly Parisian macaroons. Now wipe the drool from your mouth and add Berthillon to your shortlist. Immediately.

LA PART DES ANGES

I stumbled upon La Part Des Anges when every other restaurant in the Montmartre art district was closing and I felt like I might starve to death. Dejected and expecting to eat leftover macaroons for dinner, I popped my head in on the way back to my hotel to see if by some miracle they might still be serving food. They were! And boy, did I hit the jackpot.

Their inventive dishes were absolutely delicious, and the service was unparalleled. Insider tip: plan your meal around dessert. They have a french toast chantilly cream concoction that’s to die for! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

There you have it, some of the best restaurants in Paris. The food in the City of Lights is so incredible you really can’t go wrong, but to miss out on these in particular would be a travesty. Their unique atmospheres, show-stopping recipes, and exceptional customer service make them a must on your Parisian itinerary.
